Now, there are some fights that are OK to get involved in, but there are others you should stay away from.
Paul in no uncertain terms told his protégé Timothy to - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith… So there is such a thing as a good fight and I’m not talking about the kind where the guy taps out or gets KO’d. In other words it’s good to fight if you fighting for your faith.
The same man who told us that there is a good fight also told us what not to fight against. Ephesians 6:12 NCV Our fight is not against people…Paul reminded us that we shouldn’t fight against people. So you have to come to the realization that people aren’t your problem.
Even today you may be in a fight for; your finances, your marriage, your faith, your peace. My advice to you today is to stop fighting. I know you’re thinking “Are you telling me to give up, to surrender, to wave the white flag”? No, I’m encouraging you to stop fighting your own battles, and start letting God fight them for you. No matter how many battles you fight the enemy will just keep sending you more, but when you stop fighting your own battles and let God get involved or you could say it this way when you let go and let God you’ll get the victory because He can’t lose.
It says in Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Isn’t that awesome news! You can quit avenging yourself and trying to get revenge on those who have hurt you. Give it to God and He’ll make it right. God wants to fight for us, but all too often we get in His way and don’t let Him.
In the book of 2 Kings a Syrian army shows up at Elisha’s home town to capture him. Elisha’s protégé wakes him up and is terrified of the army. So Elisha prays and the young man’s eyes are opened and he sees the mountain covered with chariots of fire. Do you see that God is always greater than your enemy?
One last scripture Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us? If God’s on your side you can’t help, but win! So no matter what you’re fighting today remember you have the victory in Him.
