Ministers of this great gospel,
I have been in and around ministry for over 40 years—eight years with my earthly father [a pastor], 20 years with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, eight years as Apostle and Sr. Pastor of BelieversWay Church – Amarillo, Midland, Texas, and Vail, Colorado.)
I grew up in a pastor- apostle home. My father didn’t know he was called to be an apostle, In the 70s, apostles and prophets were unaccepted in the church. So there were many challenges, some of which you yourself have already experienced by now. And because he didn’t have a real understanding of his office, it caused failures in his life.
I’m not here presenting myself as an expert, but I do have thousands of experiences that are confirmed with the word that I believe will enlighten your own relationship with God and brighten the path before you.
First – Don’t stop now!
Barna Research says;
“Thousands of ministers quit every year.” Perseverance/patience is necessary to go from your calling to commissioning.
Many are called, few are chosen.[Matthew 22:14]
We could say; “Many are called, few are commissioned.”
Because the process between recognizing your call to ministry, to being set in your office is truly a journey of faith—
You may feel like you’ve arrived...
You’ve got your certificate from seminary…
You’re pastoring a church with hundreds, even thousands of people (or) you’re an itinerate minister, who’s booked for the next three years…Congratulations!
(Or) you’re someone who has none of the above.
That’s not important—
What is, is that it’s God who calls, not men. And we answer to the one, who calls us.
Let me encourage you—Don’t live your life in park (or) even neutral. There is a world of discovery awaiting you, about your calling and office of ministry.
Let’s start here
II Corinthians 12:12 NKJV:
Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.
There is a characteristic listed about these apostles that came before the manifestations of signs, wonders, and miracles.
Perseverance—patience
It’s not a gift, a grace (or) an anointing. It’s a fruit of the Spirit.
[Galatians 5:22-25]
Question:
When you don’t see the apple on the tree, where is it?
Answer;
Inside the tree
The word “patience” doesn’t mean a long wait in a doctor’s office. It means to; stay persistent in the face of opposition; keep doing what you’re doing all the while knowing that what you’re expecting is coming; it’s stickabillity, staying with it, finishing what you’ve started.
So if “fast food” is too slow, and miracles, signs and wonders are not happening quick enough…
You need to take a look at your patience.
The new breed of minister God is raising up in our generation will have character, above every other quality.
That character (fruit of the spirit) will be developed, grown to maturity and it will cost you! Trust me!
It’s the maturity of patience, before the fullness of signs, wonders, and miracles in your ministry.
By faith and patience we inherit the promises… [Hebrews 6:12]
Not just by faith, but by faith and patience
So don’t stop, everything you’ve done to this point is developing deep character in you, so God can do a deep work through you, in the lives of others.
