Have you ever considered the value of your freedom-the lifestyle of the free that we take advantage of everyday, but so often take for granted?
What does freedom look like? What does freedom feel like? How does one act who is completely free? What can I do with all this liberty?
Until we answer these questions-by considering the value of our freedom-we will never become personally responsible for it. Being personally responsible for our freedom is the first step to mastering our freedom-and once we truly master our freedom, then we are capable of helping free others who are in bondage. In other words, if you are enslaved internally, then you can never liberate those who are in captivity.
So, again, I ask you: "What do I do with all this freedom?"
Two thousand years later, Jesus is still freeing people with the freedom that was resident inside Him. He freed people when he walked the earth, and ever since as the resurrected Lord. He has continued to do this because he never stopped increasing His capacity for freedom.
The freedom that was and is on the inside of Jesus was and is enough to free every person in every generation for all time. That's great capacity. Now someone may say, "Yeah, but hold on, they killed Him on the cross. Don't tell me He was free." The Word says they didn't take his life-He laid it down. It was his choice-and that's what happens when we master our freedom. People can't kill you. No one can stop you from your destiny, rob you of your purpose, or steal your dream. No one can postpone or delay God's will for your life even for a day. It's your choice. Jesus said, "The wicked one is coming, but he has nothing in me."1 In other words, Jesus was not in bondage to anything. He had no inferior qualities or mindsets inside Him. He was completely a son of God-and you can be too-totally free from all darkness. He walked in the full capacity of freedom, enough for all humanity, for all time.
If Jesus grew His capacity of freedom, to include all of us, including our marriages, families, health and finances, then how do you and I grow our capacity for greater levels of freedom?
It's found hidden in Jesus' statement, "Freely you receive, freely give."2 You see, the more freedom you give, the freer you become. The more freedom you give to others, the more freedom you receive from the Father, through Jesus Christ, and the greater your capacity for freedom. Do you see the cycle?
Each exchange-each time you freely receive and freely give-breaks down interior walls inside you to make room for more, therefore increasing your capacity. So whatever freedom you have, give it away.
Have you been healed? Give it away.
Do you have God's wisdom? Give it away.
Are you prosperous? Give some of it away.
Whatever you have, give it, and freedom will overtake you.
Let me introduce you to a new section in our monthly letter: the "Call to Action" section.
The Bible says, "Faith without action is dead."3
Just as Missy and I have freely given to you, our love, knowledge, wisdom...even investing financially into your life by bringing Believersway TV into your home-most of you without ever meeting you personally or spending time with you face to face. I see this investment into you as the same way God approached you and me "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."4 We didn't know Him, He didn't know us, but He, as a total stranger had so much love and respect for us, that He gave what He had away. That's what Missy and I have done. We've given our very lives because that's what taking responsibility for freedom looks like to us.
Can I ask you to reach back to us? Put action to your freedom and freely contribute to BelieversWay. Break down those inner obstacles by joining this Power of Possibility Team in taking God's freedom and all of its power to the world. When you do, you'll create more capacity and experience, and a greater level of freedom in your life than ever before. Your liberty will overwhelm every limitation and every bondage. Release the power of possibility, and it will blow the lid off your life.
